A New Salesian-Style Experience at Our Lady of Sorrows School

Funtastic Friday is a joyful new program inspired by St. John Bosco and the Salesian educational tradition. Rooted in the Preventive System of reason, religion, and loving kindness, this initiative offers a safe, welcoming, and faith-filled space where children can play, learn, and grow.

Open to students in Grades 5–7, this program is free of charge.

Inspired by the Oratory of Don Bosco

Funtastic Friday follows the Oratory model created by Don Bosco—a place where young people experience:

• A home that welcomes

• A church that evangelizes

• A school that prepares for life

• A playground where friends meet with joy
  
  

As Don Bosco reminded us,
 “Education is a matter of the heart.”
 and
 “It is enough that you are young for me to love you greatly.”

In the Salesian spirit, we believe that young people evangelize one another through friendship, joy, and good example.

Youth Leaders (Grades 8–12)

Youth leaders are essential to the Salesian mission. Funtastic Friday also serves as a leadership formation program for teens in Grades 8–12, helping them grow in responsibility, communication, and service.

Teen leaders help:

• Animate games and activities

• Create a warm, joyful environment

• Serve as positive role models

• Foster a sense of belonging inspired by Don Bosco’s motto:
   “Run, jump, shout, but do not sin!”
