Overview

OLS Youth—Our Lady of Sorrows Youth Group—is a community of young people who strive, as our logo expresses, to be a light in the darkness of the world. Rooted in Christ and inspired by Mary, our youth spread their wings to become helpers, leaders, and friends among the young.

This is a place where teens can grow in faith, friendship, leadership, and joyful service. Members live the Salesian spirit by practicing reason, religion, loving-kindness, presence, and joy—the heart of St. John Bosco’s Preventive System.

As Don Bosco reminds us:
“Education is a matter of the heart.”
 and
“God wants us to be happy in this world and the next.”

Our Goal

To create a safe and joyful space where teens can learn, serve, lead, and have fun together while growing into the people God calls them to be.

Program Pillars

Our Youth Group is built on five pillars, all inspired by Salesian Spirituality:

Pillar

What It Means

Formation & Growth

Develop character, skills, and confidence

Leadership training, workshops, journaling

As Don Bosco encouraged his young people:
“Run, jump, shout, but do not sin!”
 Joy and holiness go together.

Who Can Join?

Teens in Grades 8–12 are welcome to be part of OLS Youth.

The group meets regularly on Fridays:

  • 6:30–8:30 PM on regular youth nights

  • 5:30–9:30 PM on Funtastic Friday service nights (for teen leaders)

Don Bosco said,
“Without confidence and love, there can be no true education.”
At OLS Youth, we walk with young people, believe in them, and help them believe in themselves.
